Bell Nunnally has added three associates, Vikram Kadiri, Laura K. Lavernia and Joshua T. Smith.
Kadiri and Lavernia join Bell Nunnally’s Litigation practice area. Smith joins the firm’s Corporate and Securities, Mergers and Acquisitions and Real Estate practices.
Kadiri focuses his practice on diverse commercial litigation matters. He has experience in First Amendment and other constitutional litigation and has worked in legislative chambers. Before practicing law, Kadiri was a film director-producer, where he used those production skills for advocacy in the Military and Veterans Law Clinic at UNC. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for both undergraduate and law school (B.A., Highest Honors and Distinction, 2017; J.D., Honors, 2021).
Lavernia comes to Bell Nunnally after attending UCLA Law (J.D., 2021) and before that the University of California, Davis (B.S., 2017). While at UCLA Law, Lavernia co-chaired UCLA Law Women and worked as a Co-Chief Articles Editor for the Women’s Law Journal. She also chaired the CRS Race, Work and Economic Justice Clinic, where she assisted with COVID-19-related employment matters.
Smith is a member of the firm’s transactional practice focusing on corporate and securities, mergers and acquisitions and real estate. He has experience assisting a wide-range of clients with all matters related to their companies, including formation; drafting and negotiating contracts; reviewing and drafting loan documents; obtaining copyrights and trademarks for entity logos, software, and other works; real estate sales and purchases; contracts for the sale of goods; and mergers and acquisitions. Smith is a graduate of SMU’s Dedman School of Law (J.D., 2017) and Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Dual B.A., 2014). He is currently a candidate for an LL.M. in Air & Space Law at the University of Mississippi.
