Whether protecting a client’s rights in a business dispute, advising on the litigation risks of a potential merger or acquisition, or assisting with post-judgment collection processes, Reid focuses on helping clients efficiently navigate their respective industries and maximize their bottom-line. Working with a wide range of clients, from financial institutions to health care practitioners, his goal is to allow clients to spend less time worrying about the legal issues and more time on their core business objectives.
Reid is a commercial litigator, with an emphasis in practice areas such as business litigation and creditors’ rights. His broad litigation experience covers general business disputes, contract disputes, breach of fiduciary duty claims, non-compete and restrictive covenant litigation, shareholder disputes, partnership disputes and more. Reid litigates these disputes in a variety of forums including state court, federal district court, bankruptcy courts and FINRA arbitrations. Reid also routinely advises companies and individuals on the litigation risks of transactions, deals, mergers and acquisitions.
In addition to his work as a business litigator, Reid also maintains a robust practice in the areas of creditors’ rights and bankruptcy. His creditors’ rights work includes helping clients obtain judgments and monetary recovery through garnishments, sequestrations and other post-judgment collection processes. His bankruptcy experience includes representing both secured and unsecured creditors through bankruptcy proceedings and related adversary cases. His bankruptcy litigation experience involves serving as first-chair trial counsel of a contested matter, extensive motion practice, drafting and negotiating debt workouts and related transactions, and handling a wide variety of hearings.
