As a litigator, Josh understands that when clients call it’s because they likely have a very unpleasant situation brewing. Able to empathize with their positions, Josh focuses on a collaborative approach to problem-solving, guiding clients through their short-term and long-term options.
Josh balances a deliberative, thoughtful approach with the right amount of aggressiveness to protect the rights of clients in a broad range of business and employment disputes. He has represented clients across multiple industries, from construction and finance to education and e-commerce. As a member of the firm’s creditors’ rights practice, Josh has successfully handled high-stakes litigation leading to the collection of six-figure judgments.
Clients routinely commend Josh for his responsiveness and the results he delivers. For example, after receiving news of the Texas Workforce Commission reversing an adverse decision in an administrative proceeding, one client remarked to Josh, “Your swift response and willingness to take this on mean a lot to me. I genuinely appreciate your prompt action. You’ve not only saved us a bundle but also a small piece of my sanity in the process.” The decision was especially impactful because, as the client highlighted, “we are hiring new people and hoping to grow in the next few years.”
Before joining Bell Nunnally, Josh gained substantial experience representing K-12 and higher-education clients in high-stakes employment and civil rights litigation. In representing both public and private education clients, including some of the largest employers in Texas, Josh routinely dealt with state and federal discrimination and retaliation claims, 42 U.S.C. § 1983 civil rights claims, Title IX sex discrimination claims, and constitutional due process and equal protection claims. He also played a significant role in schools’ litigation regarding mask mandates in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
A native Dallasite, Josh believes in giving back to his community. He is active with the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers and from 2018 to 2023 volunteered as an attorney adviser to the varsity high school mock trial team at his alma mater, J.J. Pearce in Richardson.
